Heritage pulled ahead and then held off the Vikings to earn the 46-43 victory on February 17, securing the No. 1 seed in VHSL Region 4C.

Although St. Joseph’s University sophomore infielder Hailey Peterson (Riverside/2024) had an RBI sac fly, University of Delaware senior infielder Katie Scheivert (Tuscarora/2022) scored a pair of runs in the Blue Hens’ 11-3 victory over the Hawks in the first game. Scheivert then had an RBI single in the second game as Delaware earned a walk-off 4-3 win for the sweep.
Although the Falcons were up at the half, the Panthers used a 13-1 third quarter run to take the lead and claim the 53-39 win.
Tied after the first and second quarters, the Panthers went on a run after halftime to go up 38-30. But the Rams came back to tie it again at 42-42 and force overtime. Ultimately Riverside prevailed 48-44 to advance to a Potomac District semifinal.
The Panthers used a 14-0 run spanning the first and second quarters and limited the Knights to single digits in the first half to cruise to a 56-34 victory.
Although the Captains led 28-26 at the half, the Wolverines sank a bunch of threes in the second half to claim the 55-46 victory.
