The JV Pride continued their winning ways, posting a 3-1 victory over the visiting Wolverines. During the varsity game, Woodgrove picked up the 2-1 win over Heritage.
Although the Patriots rallied in the sixth inning to tie the game at 5 apiece, the Mountaineers plated two runners in the top of the seventh and then made three consecutive outs in the bottom to secure the 7-5 victory. George Mason senior pitcher Harlowe Nigh (John Champe/2022) took the loss on the mound, while Mount St. Mary’s freshman infielder Sharon Manni (Loudoun County/2025), sophomore outfielder Maya Alvarez (Heritage/2024), and senior catcher Tristin Koerner (Tuscarora/2022) contributed for the win. Other local players on the George Mason roster include sophomore pitcher Abbey Lane (Woodgrove/2024), sophomore infielder Kaitlyn Bronowicz (Freedom/2024), and freshman catcher Marissa Skinner (Riverside/2025).
The Falcons picked up their first victory of the season with a 13-6 win over the Pride.
Broad Run senior Ryan Brzezanski has been named Player of the Year. Independence head coach Brian Nelson has been named Coach of the Year.
