After jumping out to an early 8-0 lead, the Pride eventually had to battle through the second half to fend off a surging Phoenix squad to earn the 48-36 Dulles District win.
While the Vikings starting forwards combined for 25 points and 20 rebounds, it was the total team effort by the Pride—who had nine different players score—that secured them the 68-41 win on January 17 in Purcellville.
Riverside junior guard Max Lawson contributed 11 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocked shots as the Rams’ outlasted the Pride, 70-61.
Dinwiddie senior Harry Dalton was named Offensive Player of the Year. Varina junior JaySean Richardson was named Defensive Player of the Year. Phoebus head coach Jeremy Blunt was named Coach of the Year.
