Although the Hawks rallied in the late innings, as St. Joseph’s University sophomore infielder Hailey Peterson (Riverside/2024) hit a homer to lead off the seventh inning, it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit as the Ramblers picked up the 7-4 Atlantic 10 Conference win.
Although the Dukes got on the board first with a run scored by junior infielder Madison Edwards (Clarke County/2023), the Jaguars shut them out for the remainder of the game to win 5-2. South Alabama also picked up victories against JMU in their other two games to sweep the series.
The Dukes scored half of their goals in the third quarter to take down the Owls 16-10 in American Conference action.
The Falcons stranded ten Heritage players throughout the night and held off a seventh-inning rally to defeat the Pride 3-2.
Although the Huskies scored half their runs in the fifth inning to go up 10-9, the Rams answered immediately with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning and held on to claim the 11-10 win.
