Potomac Falls senior forward Colby Margenau finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds in the Panthers’ 77-39 win over their rival Titans.
Despite holding a 15-point lead late in the third quarter, the Huskies couldn’t hold off the Wolverines, who came from behind to win 67-62.
After extending their lead to as many as 12 in the second half, the Panthers saw that lead fade away as the Vikings rallied back. But Potomac Falls didn’t back down as they fought back in the fourth quarter to sneak away with a 62-55 win over Loudoun Valley.
Despite allowing more than 200 yards through the air, the Stone Bridge defense bent but never broke as the Bulldogs held off the Warriors, 21-10, on December 2 in Ashburn, earning them a ticket back to the VHSL Class 5 State championship game.
The Huskies fought from the jump but came up short of the Spartans, 31-21, in a VHSL Class 4 State semifinal.
