[twitter-follow screen_name=’HMDChickadee’] By Hanna Duenkel LoCoSports Journalist Ashburn (Feb. 12, 2015) – It’s a little known fact that the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League (NVHSL) exists.  So when Loudoun County High School hosted the combined Tuscarora-Heritage team on Feb. 6 at the Ashburn Ice House, the game was very intimate. The rivalries between Loudoun County, Tuscarora and Heritage were visible, yet the Huskies and Pride have to put their crosstown differences aside once the puck drops.

By Morgan Widdifield LoCoSports Journalist Purcellville (Jan. 19, 2015) – Rival high schools Loudoun Valley and Woodgrove took to the hardwood for round one of the Battle of P‘Ville on Jan. 15. They would Play for a Cure selling t-shirts and raffle tickets to raise awareness and money to help the fight against breast cancer. Woodgrove girls head coach Kevin Copley said his players fronted the event and added that several other student organizations including the Woodgrove boys team helped along the way.
