Ashburn, Va. — Freedom High School senior Carter Levin, Tuscarora High School sophomore Bobby Philpot and Tuscarora High School senior Brecan Saul led the Eagles and Huskies to co-team titles at the VHSL Region 5C wrestling championships on February 9 at Broad Run High School in Ashburn. Levin won the 126-pound weight class, while Philpot and Saul won the 106-pound and 132-pound weight classes, respectively, as Freedom and Tuscarora tied atop the team standings, 176-176.
Stone Bridge sophomore Charlie Lausten (113-pound), John Champe freshman Christien Cousino (120-pound), Rock Ridge senior Jason Braig (138-pound), John Champe senior Nathan Williams (182-pound), Rock Ridge senior Gregory Manternach (195-pound) and Broad Run senior John Birchmeier (285-pound) also won individual VHSL Region 5C titles.
