Loudoun County, Va. – In an effort to better recognize student-athletes who positively affect high school sports in Loudoun County, Gymnaze and LoCoSports have teamed up to announce Broad Run High School senior Taylor Reyes as the Gymnaze and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month for May 2022.
Reyes’ ability to lead and courage her teammates allowed the Spartans to post a 6-2 mark in May, including a win over No. 1 Tuscarora in a Dulles District semifinal, before knocking off Loudoun County to claim the Dulles District championship and advance to the VHSL Region 4C tournament.
“She was a senior captain who led the team this year with her positive attitude, exceptional work ethic, and always gave 100%,” Broad Run head coach Lauren Brewer said. “Her contagious smile brought joy and energy to the team. Taylor was able to keep her teammates focused and determined all while having fun at the same time. Taylor’s drive and love of the game helped mold this team into a family.”
Down the stretch of the season, Reyes became a vocal leader, who not only inspired her teammates but also who led by example.
“Taylor not only became a force to be reckoned with on the field, but she also become a vocal leader of the team,” Brewer said. “She inspired the team with her energetic pregame speeches and followed this up with her outstanding play on the field.”
