Loudoun County, Va. – In an effort to better recognize student-athletes who positively affect high school sports in Loudoun County, Gymnaze and LoCoSports have teamed up to announce Tuscarora High School junior Sadie Dillard as the Gymnaze and LoCoSports Athlete of the Month for November 2021.
During the month of November, Dillard ran in two postseason meets for the Huskies, finishing runner up at the VHSL Region 4C championship (18:18.00) and finishing 10th at the VHSL Class 4 State championship (19:11.00). Dillard’s run at the region meet earned her the No. 2 spot in the LoCo Top Times this fall.
“Simply put, Sadie knows what she wants out of the sport and out of herself,” Tuscarora head coach Troy Harry said. “During the first day of cross country practice this year, Sadie let me know what her goals were and together we worked towards them. You don’t often see that type of drive, ability to stay focused, as well as daily execution towards a long-term goal.”
While Dillard set and went after her individual goals, her focus was always on the team, leading the Huskies to a second place finish in the VHSL Region 4C and fourth place finish in the state meet.
“Sadie’s work ethic and approach to getting better is contagious. She is part of our core group of leaders that help define the expectations of what our team is all about,” Harry said. “Sadie brings her A game each and every day and sets high expectations for herself and her teammates. This has resulted in a cohesive and highly performing group of young ladies.”
