Loudoun County, Va. – In an effort to better recognize student-athletes who positively affect high school sports in Loudoun County, Gymnaze and LoCoSports have teamed up to announce Loudoun Valley High School senior Jessi Nappi as the Gymnaze and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month for August 2021.
As a defensive captain for the Loudoun Valley field hockey team, Nappi’s leadership starts off the field. Her dedication to improving her game and helping her teammates’ improve theirs is second to none.
“Jessi has a positive impact on our team by her work ethic,” Loudoun Valley head coach Nancy Adams said. “She stays after practice to work on skills and also invites others to stay longer or come earlier to get extra practice time.”
Having helped the Vikings to a regular season Dulles District title in 2020—when they went 8-3 overall and 6-0 in district play—Nappi is one of just three seniors on Loudoun Valley’s 2021 squad, and she’s playing an active role in working with and encouraging her younger teammates to compete at a high level.
“Jessi is always positive and encouraging to her teammates, especially the younger players,” Adams said.
