Loudoun County, Va. — There are many people today who suffer from general lower back aches and pain of no known cause or injury. The likely culprit would point to poor postural awareness and poor abdominal or core strength.
We are presented throughout our day with various different postures with sitting and standing being the most problematic. We are required to hold and maintain these postures for long periods of time. Over the course of this time our body and muscles that support these postures begin to fatigue and we start to take on a more slouched posture. This results in the onset of achy muscles and our body shouting at us to move or change positions.
Desk Jobs and Back Pain
Does this sound familiar??? I’m sure all of you can relate at some point in time. With the large majority of us having desk jobs and now as we have entered into more of us working from home, lower back pain will likely be more of an issue. As we are taking our desk jobs into our home and trying to find a good working set up more of us are going to be struggling with lower back aches and pains.
How Can We Treat It?
The good news is you don’t have to suffer because you can do something about it! Once lower back pain and muscle fatigue presents it’s likely not going to go away due to the nature of your required posture or body position. Physical Therapy is the best way to help educate you on your areas of weakness as well as teach you exercises including strengthening and stretching to address these postural and core weaknesses.
NOW is the time to take care of it before it gets worse!!!
