Loudoun County, Va. – In an effort to better recognize student-athletes who positively affect high school sports in Loudoun County, Power Train and LoCoSports have teamed up to announce Riverside High School sophomore Amelie Fieser as the Power Train and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month for September 2017.
In just the program’s second year, Fieser has led the Lady Rams to a 9-1 start in 2017, including a 2-0 start in the Dulles District.
“Amelie is a sophomore and has really matured from last year,” Riverside head coach Amy Oldknow said. “This year she has stepped up and become a leader on the team, both on and off the field. She is a hard worker, motivated, and gives 110% on the field but also has a good time goofing around with the girls.”
[adrotate banner=”6″]Fieser’s leadership on and off the field helped Riverside to a near perfect September, finishing 5-1 in the month, winning their last five contests.
“Amelie runs the backfield as a defensive middie and gets our offense started,” Oldknow said. “She doesn’t stop on the field. She gets the play started and has been invaluable to us.”
The Power Train and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month is selected from nominations based on student-athletes having a great team-first mentality, hustle, work ethic, attitude and heart.
All athletes and teammates of the month are invited to Power Train for a free month of training.
If you wish to nominate a student-athlete for athlete or teammate of the month, please reach out through our contact form or email us at owl@locosports.info.
