Virginia Beach (March 22, 2017) — APEX Gymnastics qualified nineteen athletes to the region championship after a solid performance at the Virginia State competition in Virginia Beach on March 17-18. Highlighting the state performances for APEX was Level 9 gymnast Ashley Spanlger, who won the state championship in the vault. The APEX Level 8 and Level 9 teams both placed eighth in the team competition.
The Level 9 team – Allie Auten, Claudia Cardona, Caroline Cascadden, Amy Eck, Caitlyn Faint, Lauren Miller, Hannah O’Dea, Caitie Reyes, Ashley Spanlger, Julianne Vennitti and Ashley Wilkins – will represent APEX at the Region 7 competition in Landover, Maryland on April 6-10.
The Level 8 team – Ashley Bannerton, Kaitlin Bolton, Marlena Costanzo, Avery Goodlin, Lauren Greene, Abbie Knox, Lillian Lin and Mareli Muller – will represent APEX at the Region 7 competition in Monaca, Pennsylvania on March 31 – April 2.
