Woodbridge (March 18, 2017) — Led by all-around runner-up Conner Lin and rings champion Daniel Jekal, the APEX Gymnastics boys level 5 team finished fourth in the Virginia Men’s Gymnastics State championships on March 11-12 in Woodbridge. Jekal also placed fourth in the all-around while Dane Gaynor rounded out the APEX effort finishing sixth overall.
APEX’s level 6 boys team saw an individual state championship from Chance Smith, who won the floor routine and placed fourth in the all-around. Tiernan Yoder and Joseph Ernest finished ninth and tenth, respectively, in the level 6 all-around for APEX.
All six gymnasts – Ernest, Gaynor, Jekal, Lin, Smith and Yoder – will represent APEX Gymnastics at the Region 7 championships in Lincroft, New Jersey on April 6-9.
