Round Hill, Va. — Led by the one-two punch of senior Jackson Soska and senior Alex Price, the Woodgrove High School golf team ran away with the Dulles District team title on September 20 at Stoneleigh. The Wolverines shot a 296, 14 strokes better than runner up Heritage.
Soska led the field, shooting a 3-under, 69, while Price and Loudoun County sophomore Matthew Monastero shot 1-under, 71s to tie for second.
Soska and Price will lead the Wolverines into the VHSL 4C Region tournament on September 24 at Fauquier Springs Country Club. The Pride and Riverside Rams also qualified.
With his second place finish, Monastero earned an individual region berth. Dominion senior Alex Brendes, Loudoun Valley sophomore Owen Cook, Loudoun Valley junior Colin LaFollete, Loudoun Valley junior John Michael O’Brien and Dominion sophomore Brian Shen will also represent Loudoun at the VHSL 4C Region tournament.
