Loudoun County, Va. – In an effort to better recognize student-athletes who positively affect high school sports in Loudoun County, Power Train and LoCoSports have teamed up to announce Dominion High School junior Matthew Turk as the Power Train and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month for April 2019. In April, Turk led the Titans to a 6-3 mark, including Dulles District wins over Heritage, Loudoun County, and Park View. Ashburn, Va. — Some high school sports rivalries shift yearly, while others have been around for decades. One of the most well-documented rivalries in Loudoun County Public Schools history is the one between Broad Run and Stone Bridge High Schools. Virginia Beach, Va. — APEX gymnasts Lauren Greene and Lillian Lin each finished sixth in the all-around in their respective divisions at the Region 7 meet in Virginia Beach on April 11-14. With their sixth place finishes, both Greene and Lin have qualified to compete in the Level 9 Eastern National Championships which takes place May 10-12 in Kissimmee, Florida. Purcellville, Va. — Loudoun Valley High School senior Allison Traub has made a verbal commitment to continue her academic and soccer career at the University of Tampa beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. “Tampa is beautiful,” Traub said. “Everything felt right when I first got on campus.” Traub’s journey to Tampa, however, wasn’t an easy one as she experienced many hardships during her recruiting process. “My recruiting process was stressful.
