Atlanta, Ga. — Led by gymnasts Allie Auten, Caroline Cascadden and Lauren Greene, the APEX Gymnastics Level 9 team won gold in the team competition at the Atlanta Paws for a Cause Invitational on February 10. Auten, Cascadden and Green all won their respective all-arounds and each claimed gold in an individual event as well. Ashburn, Va. — Led by senior Sydney Wrighte’s all-around performance, the Freedom High School gymnastics team claimed the VHSL 5A State championship on February 16 in Leesburg. Wrighte followed up the team championship with an individual runner-up performance in the all-around on February 17. After finishing runners-up in 2017, the Lady Eagles were led in the team competition by Wrighte, sophomore Bre Roeder and freshman Riley Waldrop.
